Autotalks demonstrated the interoperability of its Vehicle to Everything (V2X) solution to the Chinese cellular (C-V2X) standard at the IMT-2020/CAICV/China SAE 2020 C-V2X ‘New Four Layers’ event.

Autotalks carried out the demonstration in collaboration with five car makers including Great Wall, Dongfeng and Brilliance Auto.

The New Four Layers interoperability application demonstration in Shanghai is part of the China SAE Congress and Exhibition.

Autotalks says its C-V2X solution meets all Chinese performance, configuration, throughput and security requirements and is ready for deployment there as well as in other international markets.

The second generation dual-mode V2X chipset supports C-V2X based on 3GPP release 14 and 15 specifications with embedded global V2X cyber-security functionality and RX and TX antenna diversity, the company adds.

At the event, Autotalks' OEM partners conducted demonstration rides, exhibiting conformance and interoperability of the chipset, system, software and security.

The terminal units were powered by Autotalks' dual-mode dedicated short range communications / C-V2X chipsets. These units were based on C-V2X modules by Murata, Fibocom, M2Motive and Titan and were running Neusoft’s VeTalk V2X software.

Part of the demonstration included integration with HD Map, accurate positioning services, cloud platform and tested complex driving scenarios.

Additionally, Autotalks participated in large-scale tests which involved more than 180 onboard units (OBU) in multiple settings to simulate more difficult environments that represent real-world cases.

Ram Shallom, vice president business development and marketing in APAC at Autotalks, says: “This year's New Four Layers event is an important milestone for the Chinese V2X industry, since it shows industry readiness for mass rollout of C-V2X."
