760 Arcontia, a producer of contactless smart card readers and terminals, has announced a true multiple-technology onboard validator for electronic fare collection schemes in public transport. The ARC3300 T5 validator comes with a 400MHz CPU, up to 256Mb RAM and 512Mb Flash, and features such as an integrated ISO14443 A/B reader, magstripe reader, external MicroSD and GPRS/UMTS/CDMA capabilities. The product is fitted with a 5.7in TFT colour touch display, four physical buttons, four colour LEDS and a buzzer for EMV contactless compliance. For enhanced smart card features, the terminal includes four secure access modules. The operating system is Busybox, based on Linux and equipped with the Qt application framework.
