In December 2015 the California Road Charge Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will complete its pilot project design recommendations as directed by California Senate Bill 1077 (2014). Vendor procurement will begin once the TAC’s recommendations are complete and submitted. The pilot test is scheduled to commence in summer 2016.

6219 D’Artagnan Consulting is hosting a workshop on 4-6 November on behalf of the California State Transportation Agency and the 923 California Department of Transportation for vendors interested in learning more about the California Road Charge Pilot Project and how they can compete to participate.

The services to be procured include Multiple Mileage Reporting Technology and Account Management and vendor awards are expected through the request for proposal (RFP) process which will commence shortly after the workshop. Vendors may bid on multiple categories.

The vendor workshop will provide much more detail related to the project, vendor procurement process and timeline.

The workshop format is: 4 November morning:  General session for all attendees, including a brief statement by Jim Madaffer, chair of the TAC, followed by detailed explanation of the project and procurement process, with a question and answer session; 4 November afternoon:  One-on-one meetings where vendors may meet with the procurement team to share information about their products and services and ask questions about the project; 5 November all day: One-on-one meetings; 6 November all day: Available only if all time slots for the 4 and 5 November one-on-one sessions are filled.

Openings for one-on-one interviews are limited and will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. Participation in the one-on-one sessions is not required in order to bid on the project. However, information gathered during the one-on-one meetings may be used to shape the procurement approach.
