Meanwhile, Spanish construction firm4419   Ferrovial, working with local company 4421   SNC Lavalin, has been awarded the approximately US$1 billion contract for the 20km extension works of the Toronto 407 motorway towards the East. The contract includes the design, construction, financing and maintenance of the road for 30 years. The Spanish firm was also awarded the 407 ETR Toronto ring road project in 1999.
