Scope of Q-Free’s Gothenburg congestion charging contract increased

6301 Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, has increased the amount of work for 108 Q-Free on the Gothenburg congestion charging project.

In March, the company learned that it had been awarded a contract, valued at nearly US$24 million, for the delivery of road side equipment, infrastructure and service and maintenance for two years with an option for additional six years. At the time, it was pointed out that the final contract value would be dependent on selected options and also the duration of the service and maintenance contract.

In a statement issued today, Q-Free says the value of the contract has been increased by US$5.32 million for delivery of additional charging stations, related equipment and services for two years.

“The congestion charging contract in Gothenburg is strategically very important - it is a signature project visible for the whole advanced transport management world, and we are very proud to deliver our unique solution to Trafikverket,” commented Q-Free CEO Dr. Øyvind Isaksen.
