Q-Free wins Australian toll tag order

Norwegian tolling systems supplier Q-Free has been awarded a US$2.5 million order for toll tags from the Australian Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA).

Norwegian tolling systems supplier 108 Q-Free has been awarded a US$2.5 million order for toll tags from the 2098 Australian Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA). These are for delivery in July.
“Australia is a mature market within road user charging and is expanding the use of cashless tolling,” says Q-Free’s CEO, Dr Øyvind Isaksen.

“This implies increased demand for tags and modernisation of existing roadside infrastructure, and as such Australia represents an important market for Q-Free.”

    Q-Free reported revenue of US$25 million for the second quarter 2013, an increase of 29 per cent from the same quarter last year. Operating profit (EBIT) improved to a positive US$51,000 from an operating loss of US$3.8 million in the same period last year. Loss before tax was reduced to US$391,000 from a loss of US$3.9 in the second quarter 2012.
