The US state of Virginia has radically changed which cars are eligible to use high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes.

Most of the 16,000 vehicles which carry clean special fuel number plates can no longer use HOV lanes without three or more occupants (HOV 3+).
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles says:

Additionally, the 1747 Virginia Department of Transportation is to convert HOV lanes on Interstate 395 in northern Virginia to 8217 Express lanes in a move which will require all vehicles except motorcycles and buses to have a properly mounted E-ZPass or E-ZPass Flex. Vehicles bearing a clean special number plate can access the 8217 Express Lanes with a standard E-ZPass or can travel toll-free with an E-ZPass Flex if they meet the HOV 3+ requirement.

Among several new products that RuggedCom will unveil at the ITS World Congress is the RS900GP, a 10-port PoE managed Ethernet switch with gigabit uplink ports. It comes standard with eight PoE+ ports and optional dual gigabit ports for fibre or copper. BlueSG will launch a large-scale electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing programme in Singapore on the 12 December as part of its vision to accomplish a fleet of 1,000 EVs and 2,000 charging points by 2020. Intercomp has launched a low-speed Weigh in Motion (LS-WiM) system which it says allows fleet managers to collect the weight of vehicles without hampering traffic flow.
The system is suitable for high-volume entry and exit gates and, unlike full-length truck scales, does not require incoming and outgoing traffic to stop every time a vehicle needs to be weighed, the company adds.

Lime’s scooters and warehouses in France will be powered by local, solar and small hydro projects in a bid to advance clean micro mobility in Europe, the firm says.
The move stems from a three-year agreement with Planète Oui, an electricity provider which supplies 100% local and renewable energy.
As part of the deal, Lime’s ‘Juicer’ partners which join Planète Oui will receive a free three-month subscription to the service and an additional 20% discount on their monthly subscription thereafter.
