Emovis US has been awarded a contract with the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (Ritba) to provide customer back office (CBO) systems and support.

Emovis will upgrade the system to include E-Z Pass account, customer relationship management and transaction processing services.

It will also allow Ritba to service the Rhode Island Department of Transportation's Rhode Works Truck Tolling Program activities.

As well as providing E-Z Pass compatibility, Emovis' tolling back office solution migrated Ritba’s 150,000 accounts.

The 12-month design and implementation phase will be followed by an initial five-year operations and maintenance period which may be extended.

Emovis also introduced a new enforcement module that gives Ritba full invoice processing capabilities.

Lori C. Silveira, Ribta executive director. “Reducing operating costs makes revenue available for other purposes including maintenance. As part of our continued collaboration with Emovis, we look forward to building on these successes.”

“We always strive to change what’s possible in tolling,” said Christian Barrientos, CEO of Abertis Mobility Services and Emovis.

“There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. It requires collaboration with our clients to look at requirements from multiple angles and constantly challenge the status quo. We have been doing this for the past 10 years with Ritba. This approach will guide us in the years to come as we design, integrate, test, install, and maintain the upgraded CBO.”
