486 ASECAP, the European Association of tolled road infrastructures operators, is holding its annual meeting at the InterContinental Hotel, Madrid, Spain from 23-25 May.

The event will explore the key role of the toll motorways in ensuring integrated and sustainable mobility in Europe and will offer the opportunity to discuss EU integrated transport approach and, more specifically, on how to meet the challenges towards the EU 2020 Strategy. It will also look into the future of transport from the current international perspective.

The meeting will enable high-level panelists representing toll road infrastructure operators, as well as other modes of transport, and EU policy makers to discuss sustainability issues related to infrastructure financing, operation, maintenance, safety and the environment, while considering how intelligent transport systems contribute to the achievement of the goals set.

The discussions will include technical and political sessions with key information and Q&A about subjects falling under the responsibility of ASECAP’s different Permanent Committees (COPERs) affecting infrastructure financing, safe movement and smart mobility.

One session will be devoted to delivering the final results of the REETS project (the sole pan-European project on regional tolling interoperability funded by the European Commission) led by ASECAP. REETS and EETS stakeholders will debate on the future of a pan-European interoperable electronic toll system based upon the REETS legacy.

Finally, a session on innovative marketing activities of toll motorway operators will highlight national cases, focusing on best practices and added value services for customers.
