Rekor Systems has teamed up with NextMove by Cintra "to accelerate the connected vehicle and infrastructure ecosystem" in the US.
The Rekor One roadway intelligence engine generates insights from trillions of data points, Rekor says. Combined with NextMove's "leading infrastructure and roadway technology capabilities, we are helping shape the future of mobility", it adds.
The partners are currently leading a connected vehicle project in partnership with the Oregon Department of Transportation, Gannett Fleming and ClearRoad.
Nextmove is the digital business venture of Ferrovial's highway division, and the multi-year partnership with Rekor will drive digital infrastructure innovation and sustainable transportation solutions "that foster economic growth and enhance mobility across the US".
David Desharnais, president and COO of Rekor, called the move "a major milestone in accelerating the digitisation of infrastructure that enables connected infrastructure and road usage charge programmes".
Brad Wright, CEO of NextMove, said the firms would "advance solutions that help the US accelerate the transition to digital infrastructure during the rapid shift to vehicle electrification".
