Sirit has introduced the latest addition to its IDentity series of high-performance, fixed-position, UHF RFID readers, the IDentity 5200. A ruggedised, multi-protocol reader, the device provides increased flexibility in configuration options for the user. 495 Sirit has introduced the latest addition to its IDentity series of high-performance, fixed-position, UHF RFID readers, the IDentity 5200. A ruggedised, multi-protocol reader, the device provides increased flexibility in configuration options for the user. Designed for various automatic vehicle identification applications, including electronic tolling, traffic management and electronic vehicle registration, it provides similar performance to Sirit's ID5100 reader with the added capability of being deployable across various points and positions throughout a road infrastructure. The reader can accommodate two lanes simultaneously while providing for multi-protocol operations.

    TagMaster reader and ID-tags
    TagMaster has launched the XT series readers and ID-tags addressing the EPC Gen 2 specification designed for application areas such as parking, gated communities, and condominiums as well as people access. TagMaster is initially introducing the XT-2eu and XT-2us to its UHF series. The XT-2eu is designed to comply with the European regulations for ISO18000-6 type C, while the XT-2us is designed for the North American regulations, in terms of frequency range and output power.

    Nedap’s new RFID reader offers long range identification
    Automatic vehicle and parking detection specialist Nedap has launched the uPASS Target RFID reader which is said to offer long-range identification using the Rain RFID (UHF EPC Gen II) Standard. The device identifies vehicles and drivers travelling speed of up to 200km/h (125mph) at a distance of up to 10m (33ft) by using passive UHF RFID technology (±900 MHz) and its circular polarised antenna offers orientation freedom when offering tags.
