The International Society for Weigh in Motion (Iswim) and the International Forum for Heavy Vehicle Transport & Technology (HVTT Forum) are combining their events into a single conference in Brisbane, Australia, later this year.

Technology Convergence 2023 runs from 6-10 November under the theme: 'Setting the Wheels in Motion: Reimagining the Future of Heavy Vehicles, Roads and Freight'.

The exhibition and conference programme is designed to throw a light on the importance of vehicle weighing technologies when it comes to sustainable management of road infrastructure and the introduction of heavier zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) onto the road network.

Iswim president Chris Koniditsiotis says: "Australian governments and industry have worked over many years to increase the productivity and safety of heavy vehicle operations. The collection and use of mass information has been a key enabler to achieving this, and I know this will be showcased at the conference.”

The organisers say "new models of collaboration" across disciplines are needed to meet future challenges and says Technology Convergence 2023 will provide "a rich spectrum of knowledge, contacts and experiences, and invaluable networking opportunities".
