Parifex says Nano is compact, light and easy to transport, which makes it suitable for fixed or mobile use

Parifex's Nano sensor has been registered by a key French metrology institute - the Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais (LNE).

The company says this makes Nano the first speed enforcement system including a 3D-Lidar sensor to be registered in this way.

"We are very proud to be the first company to offer an innovative speed control system including a 3D-Lidar sensor," says Parifex CEO Franck Peyré.

"This official registration rewards more than six years of research and development, This is a major first for the LNE and Parifex which have been working together on this project.”

Parifex says this "paves the way" for the use of 3D-Lidar technology for speed enforcement systems.

“Lidar makes the operators' experience easier," says Désiré Codo, Parifex R&D manager.

"It is easy to set up through the 360-degree view and does not need any specific orientation. It provides a 3D map of the environment through a fast and unmatched processing time.”

The manufacturer says Nano is compact, light and easy to transport, which makes it suitable for fixed or mobile use in collecting traffic data, vehicle counting and classification, and object detection - from vehicles in reverse to pedestrians.
