Nominations are open for the 2022 ITS (UK) Awards.

The UK's ITS industry association has more than doubled the number of categories on offer - boosting it from five to 11 "to better recognise the huge contribution technology is making to a greener, safer and more efficient transport network".

The new awards include ones for Active Travel, Better Environment through Technology, Best Use of Data or Connectivity, Enforcement Scheme and Public Transport.

There is also a new Frontline Hero award for someone from a member organisation who works at the sharp end of transport delivery, such as on-street engineering.

ITS (UK) is also introducing the Jennie Martin ITS Woman of the Year award, in honour of the organisation's longstanding secretary general, who is in her last year in the role.

There will also be awards for Outstanding Contribution, Early Careers Professional and Inclusive Mobility at the event, which takes place alongside the President’s Dinner on 13 October at the Jury’s Inn Hotel in Milton Keynes.

It will be held after the second ITS (UK) Members’ Day, which this year is hosted at the nearby Connected Places Catapult.

The event will be hosted by ITS (UK) president and former UK transport minister, Steve Norris.
