  • TransCore to upgrade toll collection on four bridges between US-Mexico

    The City of Laredo has selected TransCore to provide a comprehensive upgrade to the toll collection system on its four international bridges between the US and Mexico. Each year, more than 6.7 million vehicles and three million pedestrians cross the Gateway to the Americas, the Juarez-Lincoln International, the Colombia Solidarity, and the World Trade bridges.     Kapsch TrafficCom’s David Bolt, VP Sales and Solution Consulting for the APAC region, will provide an update for attendees on how the Kapsch and AIMES Intelligent Corridor project is going and explain six defined use cases focused on congestion management and improving road safety. The project was launched by Kapsch TrafficCom in March of this year together with the University of Melbourne and the Victorian Department of Transport (DOTVic), supported by an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage grant from the Federal Government.

    Canada-based Skymeter Corporation has won the overall 2010 Intertraffic Innovation Award. The company succeeded with its smart road-use device which it has designed to handle a wide range of automotive mobility-related payment needs, including road user charging, parking fees, insurance and carbon metering, as well as reward schemes to encourage differential driving times, carpooling or teleworking.
