Asecap Days 2021

The world has been hit by an unprecedented pandemic which caused  an economic recession striking very hard Europe and the rest of the world, including road infrastructures. The 48th Asecap Study & Information Days will focus on lessons learnt and on how it would be possible to foster safe and mobility solutions to boost the economy and recover from the pandemic crisis, by stimulating investments aimed at reaching the EU objectives of vision zero in terms of fatalities and of CO2 emissions.

    There are 43 road deaths across 31 participating European countries, according to the latest results by European Day Without A Road Death (Project Edward). The figures have been published by the European Traffic Police Network, Tispol. Findings also revealed that 16 countries had zero fatalities. The project aims to raise awareness of road safety issues and to draw attention to value of national and Europe-wide road safety targets.
  • EU rolls out intelligent information services

    The European Commission has adopted two regulations to promote the roll-out of intelligent information services, such as real-time warnings about dangerous road conditions ahead and information on safe and secure parking places for truck drivers. They can be provided through different means such as variable road signs, the radio and mobile phone applications. The Commission wants these information services to be interoperable and compatible across Europe, and available to as many drivers as possible along t
